12 days 11 hours 24 minutes

You would think that coming back after a couple of months I would talk about something more... what's the word?? Adult??

But the countdown has been happening for a while now and today I realised that not only would the wait be over but the series would be finished. It was a sad revelation, I even shed a tear (and I don't cry) at the thought of there not being any more books to look forward to, no new discoveries to be made about the Wizarding World.

I still remember the day I got the Philosophers Stone. My Mum convinced me that I should read it to see what all the hype was about (personally I think she just wanted to know if it would be a good read and was using me as an excuse to buy it). So we bought the book (I think Mum did) and we did the grocery shopping... and when my Mum does the groceries it takes forever, lets say I was a fair way in by the time we drove home... and within 24 hours I had finished and was wondering whether or not getting the second book that day would be a bit obsessive?

See I didn't start reading the Harry Potter books until Goblet of Fire came out so within 3 weeks I had the first 3 HP books read (I felt I should limit it to a book a week - they were all finished rather quickly though). I was then left with the conundrum: Do I wait for GOF to come out in soft cover so that all my books matched or just buy it now?

Lets me say it this way; only 3 of my HP books are in soft cover.

Naturally I then had to wait with the rest of the fans for OOTP and HBP to come out and now I am facing the end of a series that I'm not sure I want to end and yet can hardly wait to finish to see what wonderful things JK Rowling has install for us.

I do believe that the weeks proceeding 21 July will be interesting for all Harry Potter fans and more than a few tears will be shed before this epic story that is so well told is finished for those who enjoy the world and writings created by JK Rowling.
